Community first Responders are volunteers who live or work locally and respond to emergency calls on behalf of the South East Coast ambulance service.
They are trained to give life saving treatment to patients and very often arrive before the ambulance as they are literally just around the corner.

Young adventurers are invited to take part in a day of treasure hunting and tales from the high seas as Groombridge Place hosts its first ever Smugglers’ Sunday on May 16.
Visitors to Groombridge will be transported back to 1750 when smuggling was at its height and hear John Bowra, head of the notorious Groombridge Gang, tell his story. They can then venture in to the Enchanted Forest in search of the smugglers’ hidden wooden chests, with a chance of winning some ‘treasure’ to take home.

An optimised vitamin D level reduces the risk of contracting illnesses and relieves health budgets - experts recommend covering vitamin D requirements by exposure to sunlight and nutritional supplements
Veldhoven, 3rd May 2010 (SRF) – An increase in the average vitamin D level in blood from 20 to 40 up to 60 nanogrammes per millilitre (ng/ml) would reduce the risk of suffering from serious illnesses, including numerous types of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, bacterial and viral infections, auto-immune diseases, osteoporosis, dementia and heart failure by up to 50 percent.

The Big Cake Bake launches this CF Fundraising Week (17-23 May) when people all over the UK will be holding coffee mornings and cake sales at work, school or home to raise money for the CF Trust. All you need is a venue, large slices of cake, plenty of liquid refreshment and generous guests! If you’re no great shakes at baking, you can always nip to the shops to buy some. You can host your event during CF Fundraising Week or at any other time convenient to you. Get the kettle on and join in the fun.
